The Anglican Church of Kenya Guest House formerly CMS Guest House was used for provision of accommodation to missionaries from up country stations. Wilbughby Carey’s house stood at the present site of the Guest House and his old ‘mabati’ had to be demolished for the present house to be built. After the inauguration of the Province in 1970, the house took on the name C.P.K. instead of C.M.S. and in February 1998 after a vote by the Provincial Synod the Church took on the name Anglican Church of Kenya.
